Short Biography
Przemyslaw Data is a chemistry Professor at the Silesian University of Technology. He started his scientific work during Master studies which resulted in employment at Polish Academy of Sciences, Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials in 2007. After that, he earned the degree of Master of Science and Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology in Poland in 2008, and his PhD in Chemistry from the Silesian University of Technology in 2013, working with Prof. Mieczyslaw Lapkowski. In his thesis, he went beyond the knowledge of electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical processes involved in formation and analysis of selenophene- and tellurophene- based conjugated polymers. He pioneered the use of such compounds as both emitters and electrochromic windows in devices.
After completing his PhD, Data received 2-year postdoctoral fellowship funded by Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education to follow his Mobility Plus project concerning the use of Exciplexes as Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence emitters in Organic Light Emitting Diodes and he has chosen Durham University and prof. Andrew Monkman group to proceed with scientific work. Before Dr. Data finished his polish funded fellowship, he successfully applied for H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship from Durham University to extend his work on Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence materials for next two year. After the fellowship, he was appointed as the experienced researcher in Durham University jointly with the Silesian University of Technology, he followed the work on Organic Electronics topic.
